Renaissance of a Country Garden

Working in an established garden in Berkshire

The owner of this house has lived there for over twenty years, managing the estate and farm attached to the garden. The formal gardens had become overgrown and out of step with how the clients live now, requiring too much work but not giving enough in return.

Having slightly fallen out of love with some parts of the extensive gardens, they brought Tabi in (who had previously worked for them on The Milking Parlour, a separate commercial part of the same estate) to assist them in reimagining the planting.

Tabi spends a lot of time here, designing on the ground with the client, discussing ideas and approaches and working iteratively to help the garden evolve at a pace that suits the client and their gardeners. The clients were so pleased with the new garden after phase one that they put a new window into their kitchen - so they could enjoy it more!
